Do Young Women Love Money?
When you are reasonably successful and affluent, you will no doubt ask yourself at some point what really attracts your partners. This is especially true after a failed marriage or long-term relationship. After all, dating does not become easier as you grow older, or does it? Whether you are on the lookout for something deep and romantic or a superficial and more casual arrangement is of course up to you, but it can’t hurt to know your potential dating partner’s motivations. This month we look into an absolute classic of age gap dating 101: Do young women love money?
Do young women love money more than love itself?
You know the saying, diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but are attractive females really all Material Girls at heart? Before we get into the nitty gritty of dating statistics and expert opinions, there’s something to say about the role of financial support in any relationship. For decades, gender roles have put pressure on us to perform in a certain way. Men where expected to work hard and provide for the family, while female members of the household managed finances, took over many of the chores, and saw that the children where taken care of. Nowadays most women work and contribute to their household financially just like their partners do, but pregnancy and childcare are still burdens that have a significant impact. In that sense, there is a historical reason why women should consider their partner’s financial situation.
Why do young women love money even when they are independent?
Probably we should ask ourselves: Do young women love money, or do they actually just love stability and financial security? We all want to feel supported, and nothing in this world is free, of course. Therefore, looking for a partner who is able to give us that sense of security and financial stability is not materialistic per se. Quite the contrary, I would argue that it is a perfectly reasonable criteria when it comes to identifying potential partners. This is even more true if family planning comes into the picture.
How your wealth increases your chances in the dating game
Do women love money even when they claim that they want to find a real partner? Long story short: Yes, in a way they do. This is not necessarily a bad thing, though. When you have a successful career, it demonstrates that you are reliable and able to offer a sense of financial stability. You do not have to suspect that every attractive female hitting on you is a gold digger in disguise. That being said, if you are only interested in short-term things and superficial affairs, having the financial freedom to splurge and impress your date certainly doesn’t hurt, either!
